Life Skills Program
All three of our facilities in Batesville, Brookville and Penntown provide opportunities for individuals to work on developing specific skills, participate in recreational and educational activities, and to develop social skills while making friendships. There is an artist on staff available to assist individuals with expressing their creative abilities through their art. Our Life Skills Program provides many opportunities throughout the community where we strive to help each individual become an active member in their community.
Computer classes are available where individuals can work on basic computer skills, math, reading, and money skills. Cooking classes with the focus on kitchen safety, learning about nutrition, and different cooking techniques are also offered.
We have outdoor garden areas where individuals can learn about planting and growing different foods, plants, and flowers. We recently added indoor garden towers so that gardening can be offered year round.
Keys for Success and Ellison Consulting provide music therapy on site. Individuals attending the life skills program are able to participate in group music therapy each week.
